Recon Intelligence ("we", "us", "our") operates the business intelligence platform at gonerecon.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
When you request a report through our intake form, we collect:
- Company name and website URL
- Business email address
- Industry and city
Information we collect automatically
Our report generation pipeline collects publicly available data about businesses, including:
- Website content, performance metrics, and technical characteristics
- Search engine presence and rankings
- Public social media profiles and follower counts
- Public business reviews (Google, Yelp, and similar platforms)
- Google Business Profile information
- Publicly listed job postings
- News mentions and press coverage
All business data we collect is publicly available on the open internet. We do not access password-protected systems, private databases, or non-public information.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect financial account information, payment card details (Stripe handles all payments directly), social security numbers, personal health information, or any private consumer data.

3. How We Store Your Data
Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the Canada (Central) region (ca-central-1). Reports and analysis data are stored in AWS S3 with server-side encryption. Emails are sent through Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (TLS), access controls, and secure credential management.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share data only with:
- Service providers: AWS (hosting, email delivery), Stripe (payment processing), Google (API services for public data collection). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government request.
Aggregated, anonymized benchmark data (industry averages, scoring distributions) may be used to improve our service. This data cannot be traced back to individual businesses.
5. Email Communications
When you request a report, you will receive:
- Your intelligence report (Executive Brief email)
- Up to 3 follow-up emails over 7 days with insights from your report
Paid subscribers receive monthly report update emails. All emails include an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in any email or contacting hello@gonerecon.com.
6. Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymized usage data including page views and interactions. GA4 uses first-party cookies to distinguish unique users. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. No personal information is shared with advertising networks.
7. Your Rights
For all users
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data and report data
- Unsubscribe: Opt out of email communications at any time
Canadian residents (PIPEDA)
Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to access your personal information, challenge its accuracy, and withdraw consent for its use. We will respond to access requests within 30 days.
California residents (CCPA)

European residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interest (providing the service you requested) and consent (email communications).
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service. For free report recipients, we retain data for 12 months after your last interaction unless you request earlier deletion. For paid subscribers, we retain data for the duration of the subscription plus 12 months. You may request deletion at any time.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Service is intended for business professionals and is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active users. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
